David R. Ursch, 68, of Wood River, IL, was freed from this life at 1:26 p.m. Wed. June 22, 2016 from Cornerstone Hospice Center in Orlando, FL.
He was born Oct. 12, 1947 in Alton, IL to the late Raymond & Sybil (Brown) Ursch.
David retired as a Production Leader from Conoco Phillips Oil Refinery. He loved spending time with family and friends, golfing with buddies and traveling, especially to the beach
On Aug. 12, 1967, he and Bonnie J. Grindstaff were married in Bethalto, IL. She survives in Wood River.
In addition to his wife of 48 years, he is survived by a son: Michael (Elisa Grafford) Ursch; daughter: Kelly (Drew Stendeback & his daughter, Lilly) Ursch all of Wood River; grandson: Collin Ursch; great-granddaughter: Brenya Ursch; and sister: Kathy McKinney of Woodstock, GA; a special friend: John Garner; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson: Declan; father-in-law: Carl Grindstaff; and half-brother: Larry Griffin.
Memorial visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of memorial services at 7:00 p.m. Wed. 6/29/16 at Paynic Home for Funerals with Ed Settles officiating.
