David Lee Wieneke "enter the gates of his Heavenly home" on May 9, 2021 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Illinois.
David was born on July 25, 1953 to Helen (Fulton) and the late Curtis W. Wieneke in Wood River, Illinois.
David aka "Flash" was well known for his John Wayne impersonation during his senior year at EA-Wr High school in Wood River, Illinois. After graduating in 1971 David join the Navy, but was honorably discharged due to a previous injury. After returning home he was employed by Standard Oil.
He is survived by his mother Helen (Fulton) Wieneke-Baker; sisters, Deborah (Dennis) Rodgers, Martha (Kirk) Higbee, Nancy (Robert) Cuppett and brothers Curtis Raymond Wieneke, Calvin (Cassie) Wieneke, and Dennis Baker Jr.
David was preceded in death by his father Curtis W. Wieneke and his brother Larry Wieneke, who passed away at a young age, whom he greatly missed and loved.
We would like to acknowledge and say thank you to Cathy, David's caregiver and dear friend who dedicated herself to taking care of David 24/7.
There will be a private burial at Woodland Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
