David L. (Dave) Laird, age 54, passed away at 4:50 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2011, at his residence in Alton.
He was born on March 18, 1957, in Alton, to Wesley and Jean (Stone) Laird and they survive.
Dave loved baseball especially the Cardinals and the Cleveland Indians, he was commissioner of the Doc Ellis Memorial League for 21 years. His passion was music and he played Bass guitar and trumpet.
Dave is survived by his parents Wesley and Jean of Cottage Hills, one daughter, Jennifer Laird of Alton, two brothers Denny Laird of Alton, Dale and spouse Jessica Laird of Cottage Hills, one niece Caitlynn and former wife and dear friend Mary Miles of Alton
Two Aunts and one Uncle preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm Monday April 18, 2011 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday April 19, 2011 at the funeral home with Father Shawn Monahan O.M.V.
Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
