David J. Huber of Summerfield, FL passed away on March 9, 2016 following a brief illness. He was 73.
He was born on November 5, 1942 in Alton, IL, the son of Loraine and Clarence Huber.
He graduated from Marquette High School in 1961 and attended Kirksville State Teachers' College.
He married Vera Burney in 1964. After beginning his career in Park and Recreation management in Alton, he managed the Park District in Morton Grove, IL for sixteen years.
After love for family, Dave had a passion for golf. He and Vera retired to Florida in 2003 where Dave spent many happy days on the golf course.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Angela Huber of Odessa, FL; his daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and John Tomaras of St. Charles, IL; his grandchildren Joseph, Michael, Gabrielle, Ashley, Thomas, and Michael; his sister, Bonnie Stemm of Godfrey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sue Ducey; and three brothers, Jerry, Richard, and William Huber.
Visitation will be from 10 am until time of memorial service at 11 am on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey with Deacon Bill Kessler officiating.
Memorials may be made to Marquette Catholic High School in Alton.
