David E Komnick, 77, of Gillespie, IL, died at Heritage Health of Gillespie on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at 2:18 am.
He was born September 22, 1944, in Carlinville, IL to Arthur Komnick and Marion (Eldred) Komnick. He married Linda Gay (Fields) Komnick on August 15, 1965, in Gillespie, IL. She preceded him in death on March 16, 2017. He was a retired coal miner after having worked for Monterey Coal Mine. David was a member of the UMWA Local 1613. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and camping.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Michael "Mick") Harrison of Gillespie, IL, grandchild, Zachary D. Myers of Missouri, great-grandchildren, Zachary D. Myers, Jr., Zillon Myers, brothers, Mack (Rita) Komnick of Mesa, AZ, Gerald (Rhonda) Komnick of Clinton, IL, sister in law, Dorothy Komnick of Carlinville, IL, several nieces, and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, and brother, Phil Komnick.
