Danny Ray Pruett Sr., 69, of South Roxana, Illinois passed away at 2:13 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in O’Fallon, Illinois. He was born March 26, 1955, in Waverly, Tennessee, a son of the late William “Pete” and Katie Bell (Page) Pruett. Danny had worked for Union Pacific Railroad, Challenge Unlimited and Tower Automotive through the years. He loved his days of fishing and enjoyed junking, always looking for a deal. He cherished his family and will be remembered for the love and special times shared. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Danny Jr. and Beth Pruett of Rosewood Heights, Illinois; a daughter, Shannon Donohue of Granite City; six grandchildren, Paige, Kaleb, Mallory, Brooke, Genna and Avery; two great grandchildren, Stella and Kiara; two brothers, Gene Pruett and Larry Pruett; a sister, Vickie Fry of Granite City; special friends, Misty and Jason Grether and their family of South Roxana; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Wayne Pruett, Ronnie Pruett, Steve Pruett and Bill Pruett and three sisters, Ellen “Gail” Jacobs, Bonnie Liebold and Betty Atchison.
In celebration of his life, a memorial visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 12 p.m. noon until time of a memorial service at 2 p.m. with Reverend Sharon Autenrieth officiating.
