Daniel Porter

Daniel E. Porter, age 57, of Godfrey, passed away Monday, October 28, 2013, at his home with his family by his side.He was born May 28, 1956, in Alton, the son of Herbert Porter and Mildred Klunk.  He married Tammy Agee on May 18, 1996, in Alton, and she survives.Daniel was a Navy veteran. He was an engineer at the former Clark refinery, and also worked at Conoco-Phillips. Daniel was member of Legal Shield.In addition to his wife, Tammy, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Stephanie Porter, who is stationed at JBLM in Tacoma, WA; a daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Brent Anderson of Murphy, Texas; mother-in-law, Jeanie Agee, of Brighton; his mother, Mildred Klunk; a sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Joe Pfleger of Alton; four brothers-in-law and their wives, Lonnie and Dodie Funk of Brighton, Don and Elaine Funk of Arlington Heights, Alan and Donna Funk of Granite City, and Tim Agee of Alton; four grandchildren, Benjamin, Bailey, Amber, and Jack; and a great and loyal friend and man cave buddy, John Garvey; and many other relatives and friends; and his two special dogs, Riley and Lady.He is preceded in death by his father, Herbert Porter; and a grandson, Brayan Porter.Visitation will be held Friday, November 1, 2013, from 4 – 7 pm, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Roy Rhodes officiating.A committal prayer will be held Saturday, November 2, 2013, at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a procession to Valhalla Memorial Park where burial will take place.
