Daniel Austin, 59, died at 4:53 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born September 8, 1956 in Alton he was the son of Everett and Betty (Baker) Austin. Mr. Austin worked for the Alton School District bus garage. On November 22, 1989 he married the former Judy Kite in Edwardsville. She survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Julia Carroll of Wood River, a son, Danny Austin of Alton, six grandchildren and two step grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2016 at the Godfrey Church of the Nazarene. Gent Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
