Damon M .Volger, 39, died at 10:56 am Tuesday, August 31, 2010 in Jersey County following a motorcycle accident.
He was born in Alton on August 10, 1971 to Mark C. Volger and Mary C. (Smith) Riker.
Damon owned and operated Damon’s Tree Service for 15 years and was a skilled climber. He had a great love and respect for God and Nature. He spent his free time fishing, hiking and riding his beloved Harley-Davidson.
He is survived by his parents, three brothers and sister-in-law, Derick & Jenelle Volger, and Jason and Chad Volger; three uncles and spouse, Don & Sherri, Greg and Darrell & Marty Smith, and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; George & Rose Volger and Bob & Elleanor Smith; and an uncle, Dennis E. Smith.
A memorial visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Staten Fine Funeral Home in Alton.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 am Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Alton with Father Delix Michel SSL celebrant.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorials may be made to Saints Peter & Paul Catholic School.
