Dale W. Favre, 70, passed away at 4:16 pm on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Barnes Jewish Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born on March 15, 1941 in Alton, IL, the son of Albert and Theresa Favre, who preceded him in death.
He married Cathy (Werts) Burk on November 17, 1984 in Bethalto. She survives.
Dale was a graduate of Civic Memorial High School and proudly served his country in the US Marine Corp from 1959 to 1963. He played the trumpet in the Marine Corps Band. After honorably serving his country he served the Village of Bethalto as a Police Officer retiring in 1986 at the rank of Sergeant. He and Cathy then moved to Florida where he worked for Pratt Whitney Aircraft and Lost Tree Village as a Security Officer. Dale was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bethalto, where he served as head of the Security Team. He spent his life serving and protecting others.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Curt and Kathy Favre of Troy, MO; a daughter, Missy Burk of Gillespie, IL; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Steve and Karen Burk of Wood River; a grandson, Richard Favre of Delray Beach, FL; a sister, Marty Campbell of Bunker Hill; nieces and nephews, Donny and Theresa Scroggins and their children, Samantha, Alexis and Andrew and Crystal and Tony Nix and their children, Grace and Abby all of Bunker Hill.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Funeral services will be at 11 am on Friday, March 16, 2012 at the funeral home with Pastor Chip Faulkner and Pastor Larry Rhodes officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Bethalto Upward Sports Program.
