Cynthia Holloway
Bethalto |
Cynthia “Cindy” C. Holloway, 64, of Bethalto, IL, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at her residence with her family by her side.
She was born on December 9, 1959, in Highland, IL, the eldest child of Charles and Flora (Menoni) Boehm. She married Stephen “Steve” Holloway on July 1, 2006, in Cahokia, IL.
Cindy worked as a mortgage underwriter for nearly two decades before retiring in late 2023. With her detail-oriented and by-the-book personality, this was a structured role that fit her well.
Her favorite hobbies included arts and crafts, reading, watching ‘50s and ‘60s sitcoms, and spending time with her beautiful grandchildren and family. She was passionate about her plants and enjoyed designing the gardens at her home. She loved crocheting, often giving homemade gifts to family and friends.
She was strong-willed and fiercely independent, frequently carving her own path. She instilled this strength of character in her children.
Cindy was a devout Christian with a strong faith in her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Prayer was her first step to conquering any struggle.
Along with her loving husband Steve, Cindy is survived by her children, Cassidy (Andrew) Dayton of Fenton, MO, James (Samantha) Holloway of Bethalto, IL, Kyle (Diavelyn) Holloway of Glen Allen, MO, Cody Beck of Bethalto, IL, Allen (Arianna) Holloway of Bunker Hill, IL, and Richard "Ricky" Beck of Bethalto, IL; her siblings, Michael (Kelley) Boehm of Virginia, Cathy (Tony) Perry of Indiana, and Brian (Melina) Boehm of Ohio; and her grandchildren, Sidney, Jeremiah, Zechariah, Josiah, Dinah, Eli, Claire, Lydia, Felix, and Veda.
As Cindy ascended to Heaven, she was reunited with her parents and her daughter, Stephanie Beck, who preceded her in death.
Per her wishes, Cindy will be cremated. Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto is assisting the family with final arrangements.
A celebration of life will be held at the Edwardsville Moose Lodge (7371 Marine Road, Edwardsville, IL) on Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for all who wish to remember Cindy, share stories, or say a final farewell.
