Constance “Connie” L. Lahey

Constance “Connie” L. Lahey, 70, passed away unexpectedly at 4:00 pm Monday, November 11, 2013 at her home.
She was born on January 13, 1943 in Pleasant Hill, IL the daughter of Glenn and Ruth (Hoskins) Steinberg.
She married Benjamin F. Lahey on October 6, 1979 at the First United Methodist Church in Bethalto. He survives.
Constance was a member of the Bethalto United Methodist Church and currently worked at Schnucks in the “Schnucks Cooks” Kiosk. Before that she worked over 35 years in the bakery and deli at Kroger, National and Schnucks supermarkets.
Connie enjoyed cooking, sewing, painting, and doting on her four grandchildren, “the light of her life.”
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kelly & Rick Rujawitz of Minooka, IL; four grandchildren, Avery, Camden, Bennett and Reese Rujawitz; one niece and her husband, Robyn & Kory Kaufman of Columbia, MO; one nephew and his wife, Donald J. & Mary Steinberg of Bethalto; four great nieces and nephews, Erin, Lauren, Andrew and Marissa, and extended family and many good friends.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Steinberg.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Thursday November 14, 2013 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto where funeral services will be held at 10 am Friday November 15, 2013 with Pastor Mike Rayson officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
