Connie R. Goode, 67, died at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at her daughter’s home under the care of BJC Hospice. Born October 24, 1943 in Alton, she was the daughter of Lonnie and Verneda (Hausman) Cravens. She worked for the GB Grill in Alton, the Midway Tavern in Delhi and the Jerseyville American Legion. On September 9, 1972 she married Richard “Dick” Goode. He preceded her in death on August 16, 1985. Surviving is a daughter, Brenda Batchelor and her husband Michael of Alton, four grandchildren, Melissa (Andrew) Merkle of Alton, Kimberly (Jason) Campbell of Alton, Michael Batchelor of Collinsville, and Katelyn Batchelor of Alton, two great grandchildren, Jacob Duncan Campbell and Lucas Michael Campbell both of Alton, one brother, Lonnie (Ginger) Cravens of Alton, one sister, Linda Woodfin of S. Roxana, and Donald Winkler of Jerseyville who was her love of 20 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters, Donna Green and Barbara Kemp. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Gent Funeral Home where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 30, 2011. Reverend Dr. Glen Greenwood will officiate. Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children in St. Louis, MO or the American Red Cross.
