Clifford A. Draper

Clifford A. Draper, 89, went to be with the Lord at 4:50 pm Friday, April 22, 2011 at his home. 

He was born on April 15, 1922 in Los Anemas, Colorado, the son of Charles and Minnie (Darnell) Draper. 

He married Lois N. Warren on March 18, 1946 in Olive Branch, IL.  She survives. 

Clifford served his country in the U.S. Army during 1942 to 1946.  He moved to Bethalto from Edwardsville.  He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in South Roxana, a member of the Bethalto American Legion Post 214 and a fifty year member of the Carpenters Union Local 377.  He enjoyed fishing and carpentry, loved his church and most all spending time with his family. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lana S. and Michael Haldeman of Bethalto; four grandchildren and their spouses, Doug and Carey Richie of Terrell, TX, Gina and Keith Wrather of Columbia, TN, Kayla and Mike Schlemer of Bethalto, and a step grandson, Brian Haldeman of Caseyville, IL; six great grandchildren, Kaytlin, Dalton, and Graham Richie, Austin and Mason Schlemer and James Michael Haldeman; a great great granddaughter, Kaydence Wrather; two brothers and their spouses, Charles and Linda Draper of Townley, AL and Willard Draper of Bethalto and his nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Larry Dwayne Draper and two brothers, Ed Draper and Robert Draper

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Monday, April 25, 2011 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.  Funeral services will be held at 10 am Tuesday April 26, 2011 at the funeral home with Rev. John Lile officiating.

Burial will follow at Wanda Cemetery with military honors by the Bethalto American Legion Post 214.

Memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God Church in South Roxana.
