Claude Edward Logan 87, of Cottage Hills passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019 surrounded by his family. 

He was born September 13, 1931 in Alton. He married Kathryn Klunk January 26, 1956. Claude was retired from Lefton Iron and Steel; he had previously worked for Grossman Steel and spent most of his years as a welder at A.O. Smith. He served his country in the United States Navy aboard the William C. Lawe, DD763.

He is survived by his wife Kathryn Logan of Cottage Hills; son, David (Tina) Logan of Dorsey; three daughters, Carolyn (Ranel) Coffman of Shipman; Cindy Evans of Granite City and Rachel (Kelly) Zuber of Murphysboro; seven grandchildren, Nathaniel (Samantha) Logan, April (Jonathan) Linley, Dustin (Jessica) Logan, Eric (Allison) Coffman, Tayler Evans, Laney Zuber and Kalen Zuber and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Elliott Logan; mother, Gertrude (Perkins) Freeman; step-father, John Freeman; son, Claude Elliott Logan; brother, Verlin "Gene" Logan and sisters, Louise Crane and Delores Coatney.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services at noon, Monday, January 7, 2019 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights. Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery.
