Cindy L. Lamere, 54, passed away at 7:15pm on Friday, June 1, 2012, at her residence. She was born on June 7, 1957, in Alton, Illinois the daughter of the late Jean and Virginia (Puetz) Perkins. She married Al Lamere Jr. on July 2, 1977, in Alton and he survives. Other survivors include one daughter: Heather Lamere of Festus, Missouri, one son and daughter in law: Bryan and Christina Lamere of Alton, two grandchildren: Megan and Lucas of Alton, one brother and sister in law: Bill and Pam Perkins of Meadowbrook, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
A homemaker, she was formerly employed at Cope Plastics. She enjoyed hiking, kayaking, swimming, bike riding, and trips to Florida where she swam with dolphins. She was an avid bowler. She was a board member of the Greater Alton Woman's Bowling Association (GAWBA). She was inducted into the Greater Alton Woman's Bowling Hall of Fame.
In celebration of her life visitation will be from 4pm to 8p m on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Thursday, June 7, 2012, at the funeral home. Pastor Darryl Dolbee will officiate. Following the funeral services and in accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Labre Indian School where she was an avid supporter and very passionate about this cause.
