Christopher James Harbaugh, 56, of Gillespie, IL, died at Decatur Memorial Hospital, on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 2:39 pm.
He was born August 16, 1968, in Litchfield, IL to George Perry Harbaugh & Darlene Harbaugh. He married Barb Kirkwood on September 24, 2016 in Wilsonville, IL. He was a truck driver for Profleet Trucking of which he loved being in his over the road truck. Christopher was a veteran of the US Army after having served during Desert Storm. He was a member of the Patriot Guard and was an avid Harley rider. Christopher loved playing with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his mother, Darlene Harbaugh of Dorchester, IL, spouse, Barb Kirkwood of Gillespie, IL, children, Jeremy Vail of Bonne Terre, MO, Josh Vail of Cottage Hills, IL, Samantha Vail of Mt. Olive, IL, Colton Kirkwood of Cottage Hills, IL, grandchildren, Malakai, Hailyn, Daxston, brother, Russell Harbaugh of Litchfield, IL, great niece, Spencer and great nephew, Waylon.
Christopher was preceded in death by his father, son, J. D. Vail, brothers, Kenny Harbaugh, and Byron Harbaugh.
Friends may call on Friday, June 6, 2025 at Kravanya Funeral Home, Gillespie from 4:30 pm until 6:30 pm with a memorial service to follow at the funeral home at 6:30 pm.
