Cheryl Wilkes Johnson, 67, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2011, in Albuquerque, N.M.
She was the daughter of the late Floyd bad Lillian Wilkes of Alton.
She married Mike Hickman in Alton and a daughter Erika was born in 1969. She later married Melvin Sanchez and a daughter Taumi was born to this union. After his death she married Bob Johnson whom she would have been married 20 years this August.
Cheryl at one time was employed as a proofreader at The Telegraph. Later she had an Artesian gift shop in the old post office building in Alton.
In addition to her husband, she leaves two daughters, Erika and Taumi and three grandchildren all of New Mexico.
A Memorial Service for Cheryl will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to 5 A’s or the American Cancer Society.
