Cheryl “Cheri” A. DeHart, age 65 of Maryville, IL (originally of Berlin, NJ) returned to her heavenly home, on January 27, 2022, at Anderson Hospital, with her children by her side.  

Cheri was born on August 30, 1956, in Camden, NJ.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Evelyn (nee Dowell) Odorisio; and a sister, Susan Ottenthal.

Cheri was a beloved mother and grandmother. She is survived by her three children, Grace (Ken) Ellis of Glen Carbon, IL, Elizabeth DeHart (Robert Dawson) of Colebrook, NH, and Matthew (Kristen) DeHart, of San Diego, CA.  Jenny Iannaco of Waterford, NJ, a niece who was like a daughter to Cheri.  10 grandchildren: Abigail Ellis, Ethan Ellis, Emily Ellis, Logan Ellis, Ryan Ellis, Alexis Ellis, Kenny Ellis, Lucas Ellis, Joseph Sbuttoni, and Mary DeHart.  Her sisters, Sandy Odorisio of Berlin, NJ, and Lisa Odorisio of Hatboro, PA. Niece and nephews; Susie Ottenthal, Charlie Ottenthal, Alex Olsack, Anthony Olsack, Tony Odorisio, and Michael Odorisio. Many cousins, and other loved ones.  

Cheri graduated with honors from Eastern Regional High School, she went on to attend Florida Bible College.  Later, she graduated from Rowan University, in Glassboro, NJ where she studied business administration and accounting and then worked many years as an accountant in the Philadelphia area.  After she retired from accounting, she opened “Healing Harts” a teaching/healing studio in Red Bank, NJ.  While she lived in Red Bank, she enjoyed volunteering at JBJ Soul Kitchen. Throughout her life, she always desired to help others the best she could.  Cheri was naturally artistic and had a passion for painting.  She loved nature, particularly the beach, and combined her favorite activities to create beautiful art. Cheri spent her last several years in San Diego, Colebrook, and Maryville, close to her children and grandchildren. 

Cheri was cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made in Cheri’s honor to the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research.
