Charlotte Fay Gaither, 55, died at 2:02 p.m. on Friday, August 2, 2024 surrounded by her family at her residence. She was born April 23, 1969 in Kokomo, IN the daughter of Bill Brantley and Dorothy (Buckner) Brantley. She worked for many years as an engineer with Terminal Railroad. Charlotte married James Brown in Key West, FL and he preceded her in death. Surviving are one daughter, Constance Board of Wood River, one son, Gregory Gaither (Zoe) of East Alton, six grandchildren, two brothers, Wesley Brantley (Tammy) of Marionville, MO, William “Bill” Brantley (Jennifer) of Brighton and one sister, Sherry Brantley of East Alton. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by one grandchild. A celebration of life will be Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Family Church, 78 E. Jennings Ave., Wood River, IL.
