Charles McMahan, 60, passed away at 12:40 am Monday November 21, 2011 at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born in Highland, IL on December 17, 1950 the son of the late Lonnie and Pearl (Gipson) McMahan Sr.
He married Mary Huber on February 10, 1972 in Edwardsville. She survives.
He was owner and operator of Chuck’s Taxidermy and enjoyed fishing, hunting and loved going to the river and being with his friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Ronnie McMahan of Carrollton, IL; three grandchildren, Kyra Sherfy, Tiffany & Taylor McMahan; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lonnie & Linda McMahan of Edwardsville, Charles and Beth Morton of East Alton, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Carla and Adam Wells of Edwardsville and Loretta Reeves of Bunker Hill, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Tim McMahan and one sister Betty Voss.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 9 am until time of funeral services at 1 pm Wednesday November 23, 2011 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton with Chaplain Bruce Baumberger.
Burial will follow at Miles Station Cemetery in Brighton.
