Charles Long

Charles L. "Chuckie" Long, 44, died unexpectedly at 4:53 p.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2010 in Jerseyville.

He was born on Aug. 19, 1966 in Jerseyville, and was one of five children born to Morris & Lulu Belle (Eisler) Long.Chuckie was a member of the Class of 1984 from Jersey Community High School, and was employed as a construction laborer.Age meant nothing to Chuckie, as he enjoyed "being one of the kids", or being the life of the party regardless of where is was.  He loved his children and sought out to spoil his grandkids.He married Tammy Price on Sept. 13, 2002 in Jerseyville, and she survives.Also surviving are his father, Morris Long of Jerseyville, his mother Lu Long of Jerseyville; three daughters,  Karen Lynn Long of Delhi, Christina Marie Long and Aleigha Sue Freeman Long both of Jerseyville; six step children, Sara, Whitney, Justin, and Austin Ewing, Amber & Gage Jones all of Jerseyville; one brother, Steven Long of Jerseyville; and three sisters, Tammy Dillard of Chester, Mary Jo Howland of Hamburg, and Marlene K. Long of Dow.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank & Irma Eisler, Joseph Long, and Christina (Lyles) Long Woolsey.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Tuesday.  Rev. Barbara Alley will officiate.Burial will be  in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the family in care of the funeral home.
