Charles Gregory Jones, 67, died at 3:45 p.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Bria of Godfrey.
He was born in Alton, Illinois on June 21, 1957 to the late John Vester “J.V.” and Alice Francis (Smith) Jones.
He attended Jersey Community High School, where he participated and excelled in many sports and graduated with the Class of 1975.
For many years, he worked alongside his father and his brothers in the family logging business, until an injury no longer allowed him to do so.
Surviving are two children, Danielle Jones of Bogalusa, Louisiana and Grant Alexander Jones of Burlington, Iowa; a brother, Tony Jones of Jerseyville; a sister in-law, Nancy Jones of Jerseyville; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, John Henry Jones in infancy, Darrell Lee Jones, William Woodrow “Bill” (Bonnie) Jones and Paul Vester Jones; as well as a granddaughter in infancy.
Per his wishes, no public services will be held.
