Charles Glenn Lindsey, 66, died at 1:40 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis County, Mo.
He was born in Alton on Feb. 15, 1944, one of two sons born to Melivn "Buck" and Ruth (Griffin) Lindsey.
Chuck was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, and had worked at Olin Corp and Granite City Steel, among others, and retired as a pipefitter from Boeing in St. Louis in 2003. He enjoyed hunting & fishing, traveling to the antique steam engines shows in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, and doing whatever his beloved grandchildren wanted to do.
He married Sharon L. Boushka on Sept. 9, 1967 at the Hope Lutheran Church in Jerseyville, and together they have shared nearly 43 years together.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon Lindsey; his mother, Ruth Lindsey; a son & daughter in law, Doug & Melinda Lindsey; a daughter & son in law, Cheryl & DeWayne Lott all of Jerseyville; three grandchildren, Kasey, Walker & Mason; two sisters in law, Jean Lindsey of Florissant, Mo., Barbara Gerbig of Jerseyville, and a brother in law, Gary Boushka of Jerseyville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin "Buck" Lindsey; and his only brother, Douglas Lindsey.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m Saturday at the First Assembly of God in Jerseyville, with Pastor Shaun Williamson officiating.
Burial will take place at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, where the Jerseyville American Legion Post 492 will conduct military graveside rites.
Memorials may be given to the St. Francis/Holy Ghost Catholic Schools or to the Jersey Community Hospital Dialysis Center.
