Chad William Volger, 55, died at 4:18 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Barnes Hospital in Louis, MO. He was born November 15, 1967 in Alton, the son of the late Mark Volger and Mary (Smith) Riker of Alton. He was the owner of Freedom Tree Service in Alton for many years. Chad loved his tree work and being outdoors, fishing, hiking or walking the creeks looking for Indian artifacts. He loved life and made many friends, especially his AA family. Besides his mother, he is survived by his stepfather, Kevin Riker and one brother, Jason Volger of Alton. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Derick Volger and Damon Volger. A memorial visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Memorials may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Alton.
