Carol S. Lovsey, 65, passed away at 8:33pm on Sunday, September 9, 2012, at Barnes - Jewish Hospital. She was born on October 14, 1946, in Alton, Illinois the daughter of the late Charles and Virginia (Crutchley) Manahan. She married Thomas E. "Tom" Lovsey on January 13, 1963, in East Alton, Illinois and he survives. Other survivors include one son and daughter in law: Thomas and Jenni Lovsey Jr. of Mt. Olive, Illinois, two daughters and sons in law: Shannon and Jeff Sutton of South Roxana, Melissa and Mike Neislein of Barnhart, Missouri, six grandchildren: Allie Walker and her husband: Jonathan, Brennon Appel, Kendall Melton, Taylor Melton, Morgan Lovsey, Caleb Sutton, one great grandson: Isaiah Walker, three sisters, and four brothers.
She was employed as the Village Clerk for the Village of Worden for over 30 years. She was the secretary, treasurer, and board member at the River of Life Assembly of God Church in Worden. She was an avid Nascar fan supporting Tony Stewart. She enjoyed camping, reading books, music, Elvis, and the St. Louis Cardinals.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter: Stacey Lynn Lovsey, and one brother: Ronald.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, September 13, 2012, at River of Life Assembly of God Church, 307 Sandbach, Worden, Illinois 62097. Rev. Dee Lynn will officiate. Following the funeral services and in accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Inurnment will be at a later date at Worden Cemetery in Worden, Illinois.
