Carol Lee Mangan, 63, died at 8:25 p.m., Thursday, September 13, 2012 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born February 10, 1949 in Alton, the daughter of the late Anna Louise (Reynolds) Schimkus and Leroy Albers.
She is survived by her step-father; George Schimkus Jr. of Collinsville, IL. On August 1, 1980 in Godfrey she married Ralph L. Mangan of Jerseyville.
She was a dedicated mother and homemaker for her children. Surviving are her daughter; Georgeanne Crutchley of Alton, her son ; Bo Nicolini and his wife Nicki of Shipman, three step-children; Bryan Mangan of Hartford, Joyce Heiman of Granite City and Scott Mangan of Virginia, 14 grandchildren; the breath of her life, Dylan “Dill Weed” Crutchley, Kody Crutchley, Bethanee Nicolini, Baylee Nicolini, twins; Brett and Bradey Nicolini, Malaki Nicolini, Rachel Williams, Stacey Flanigan, Austin Heiman, Zack Mangan, Brandy Mangan, Samantha Mangan, Erin Mangan and Mckenna Mangan, two great-granchildren; Kade Crutchley and Tarah Ward, her brother; David Albers and his wife Charlene of Nevada and her sister; Louetta Massey and her husband Dan of Collinsville, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one step-daughter; Sheila Mangan, one sister; Ruth Ann Albers, and her in-laws; Horatio Alonzo and Nova Mae Mangan.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 18, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 6:00 p.m. at GENT Funeral Home in Alton with Reverend Randy Butler to officiate.
