Carol Lea Green, 76, died at 5:05 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Northwest Healthcare in St. Louis, MO.
Born June 5, 1937 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of the late Warden and Alice (Haller) Witzig. She retired as an administrative assistant for Jefferson Smurfit in March 2007 after over 40 years of service. She volunteered for T.E.A.M. and Habitat for Humanity and was a member of the National Secretaries Association.
Surviving are two daughters, Kristin McDowell (Robert) of Wood River, and Kelly Lea MacDonell (Stephen) of Burlington, NC, four grandchildren, Kegan, Broc, and Skylar Herrin, and Josie McDowell, a great grandchild, Kiya, a niece, Fayma Green Morse of Decatur, IL, a nephew, Barry Green of St. Jacob, IL, and dear friend and sister-in-law, Vera Schultz of St. Louis, MO.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013. Reverend Ray Robinson will officiate. Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery.
