Carol Forsythe

Carol Forsythe, 57, passed away at 10:30 pm Friday, March 18, 2011 at Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra with her family by her side.

She was born on August 9, 1953 in St. Louis, the daughter of James & Elluora (Doublin) Guffey.

She attended Forest Homes Baptist Church in Cottage Hills and worked as a saw operator for Cope Plastics.  She loved her dog, “Lizzy,” gardening, quilting, crocheting, football,  and most of all spending time with her grandson.

She is survived by two sons, Paul Nelson III and his wife Emy of Jerseyville, Tim Nelson of Bethalto and his girlfriend Casey Scott of Carrollton, IL; one grandson, Paul Nelson IV; five siblings, Erma Guffey of Jerseyville, James, Charles and Wayne Guffey, all of Tamaroa, and Diane Newell of Collinsville, and one step-son, James Forsythe of France.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Guffey one sister, Patricia Guffey, and a step daughter, Shelly Forsythe.

Memorial visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of memorial services at 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens Chapel in Bethalto with Rev. Charles West Officaiting.

Memorials may be made to Marquette Catholic Football Team.
