JERSEYVILLE-  Carol Elizabeth (Killion) Greeley, 72, died on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at the Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville, North Carolina.She was born on August 7, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri and was one of seven children born to the late Louis & Rosamond (Fleming) Killion.She graduated from business school in 1960 and soon went to work for Monsanto.  It was there that she met Richard Greeley, and in 1963 they were married, and later had three children.  In 1974 they moved the family to Elkhart, Indiana where they fostered 39 children.  After she and Richard divorced, Carol moved back to the Godfrey area and went to work for Matec, Inc.  She made a decision in October 2010 to move to the Carolinas to be closer to her eldest son and his family.Carol loved spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, volunteering at the soup kitchen, and playing games with her friends.  She could often be found reading or watching Fox News.  Carol's faith in God was unwavering, and she faced every challenge with prayer and optimism.  She inspired others with that same optimism, despite her own physical and medical struggles.She is survived by her four children & their spouses, Damon & Tamra Greeley of Ft. Mill, SC, Daniel & Robin Greeley of St. Louis, Mo., Jean Francis of Ft. Worth, Tx., and Renee' and Matt Greeley McCreary of New Buffalo, In.; eight grandchildren, Theron & Grayson McCreary, Seth, Meg, Bryce and Kate Greeley, Michael and Carolyn-Cowen-Nissen; a sister, Martha Killion of Jerseyville; three brothers & sisters in law, Richard & Theresa Killion of Jerseyville, William Killion of Edwardsville, and Robert & Yvonne Killion of St. Charles, Mo.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Rita (Killion) Petrik and Joanne (Killion) Howell.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 2 p.m., Friday at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville with Father William Hembrow officiating.Burial will be in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the  Ascension Lutheran Soup Kitchen
