Carla J. Scott, age 65, passed away at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday September 20, 2011, at her residence.
She was born on December 29, 1945 in Alton, IL. The daughter of Carter and Charlotte (Brandewiede) Vinyard.
Carla married Larry Scott on April 25, 1993 in Alton, IL, he survives.
Carla was employed as a legal secretary at the Peiper Martin Law Firm, in St. Louis for 25 years. She then was employed at Hayner Public Library for 10 years. She was a member of the College Avenue Presbyterian Church in Alton for over 52 years. She loved spending time with her dogs and cats, and traveling with her husband. She was also an avid reader.
She is survived by two step-sons; Larry Scott of Granite City, IL. and Daniel and his spouse Ashley Scott of Cahokia, IL, one step-daughter Jane Scott of Dupo, IL. and six grandchildren.
Carla was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant brother Charles Vinyard.
Visitation will be from 12 noon till time of service at 1:30 pm, Friday, September 23, 2011 at the College Avenue Presbyterian Church in Alton, IL. With the Rev. C. Dale Jackson officiating.
Burial will follow at the Upper Alton Cemetery in Alton, IL.
Memorials may be directed to the College Avenue Presbyterian Church.
