Captain Jim Henson, 69, formerly of Jerseyville, passed away at 4:35 p.m, on July 14, 2010 at Loudes Hospital in Paducah, Ky. after a courageous battle with cancer.Jim was captain of Harrah's Casino in Metropolis, Il and has been a captain for Harrahs for the past 16 years.  He spent over 25 years as a towboat pilot in his early career.  His hobbies included fishing, rabbit and squirrel hunting, nascar and collecting case knifes for his grandson.  He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a Christian.James married Eugenia Moore in 1965 and were married for 33 years before divorcing in 1998.  He then married Donna Sawyer in 1999, and she survives.  Also surviving are a daughter & son in law, Kathy & Brian McKenney of Jerseyville; three grandchildren,Bubba McKinney, and his fiance, Nicole Cummings, Paige McKenney, and Shelby McKenney; two brothers and sisters in law, Charles & Maggie Henson, and Larry & Mary Henson.He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence & Katherine Henson, and a brother, Clarence Henson Jr.Funeral arrangements and burial were handled in Paducah, Kentucky.
