Brad John Umphlett, 51, passed away at 8:06 pm Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was the son of Wesley Dwayne & Janet Kay (Blockburger) Umphlett.
He worked for Sears as an appliance salesman and was a member of the Owls Club in Alton. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and was a member of the Vikings Fan Club of St. Louis. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by a special friend, Lori Fletcher of Alton; three children, Tara Fletcher of Alton, Robert (Misty) Fletcher of East Alton, and Rachel Fletcher and special friend, Chance Hazelrigg of Alton, four grandchildren, Caine & Dayven Fletcher and Sydney & Chance Hazelrigg II, and a niece Jessica Umphlett of Minneapolis, MN; his father, Wes Umphlett of Marathon, FL; two brothers, Tim Umphlett and special friend, Lauri Stahl of Two Rivers, WI and Randy & Gina Umphlett of Minneapolis, MN.
Brad will live on through his gracious gifts of organs. Brad was very proud to be an organ donor. Per his wishes cremation rites were accorded.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 2 pm until time of memorial services at 3 pm Sunday May 15, 2011 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey with Rev. Charles West officiating.
