Bonnie Patton

Bonnie Ruth Patton, 85, died at 12:50 a.m., Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Calhoun Nursing & Rehab Center in Hardin.She was born in Hamburg on Nov. 5, 1926, and was the last surviving of seven children born to the late Albert & Mary Ann Sevier.Bonnie graduated from Kampsville High School, and retired from Principia College in Elsah as a dessert chef.She and her husband resided in Grafton the majority of their married life, however, Calhoun County always was considered "home" for Bonnie.She married Calvin Gilbert "Smoker" Patton on Dec. 24, 1945 in Hardin, and together they shared nearly 53 years together before his death on July 11, 1998.Surviving are her two daughters, Mary Ann Pitchford and Donna Perdun-Pierson both of Alton; a granddaughter, Whitney Perdun-Wedding, and her husband, Mathew Todd Wedding of Alton; two great grandchildren, Jane Elizabeth & Mathew Gabriel Wedding; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Sevier and Lee Sevier; and four sisters, Minnie Ansell, Hallie Burge, Winnie Holzworth, and Pearl Wilson.Visitation will be held from 10-11:30 a.m., Tuesday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.A funeral procession will leave from the funeral home and proceed to Summit Grove Cemetery in Kampsville, where graveside services will be held.In recoginition of the excellent care Bonnie received the family would be honored if you would consider a memorial donation in her memory to the Activity Department at Calhoun Nursing & Rehab Center
