Bonnie Perkins, 62, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Born March 6, 1961 in Alton, she was the daughter of Bert (nee’ Michael) Clowers of Alton and the late Dennis Clowers. Bonnie began working as a teacher’s assistant in 1997 and had been at West Elementary School for the last 20 years. She was a three-time cancer survivor having beat breast cancer twice and also leukemia. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren. You could always find her at the baseball field, soccer game, or dance recital. On June 5, 1981 she married Gary R. Perkins in Alton. They were happily married for 34 years.
Along with her mother, Bert, she is survived by two daughters, Lori Sutphin (Matt) of Alton and Debbie Diepenbrock (Brad) of Alton, four grandchildren, Jacob Sutphin, Jessica Sutphin, Brandtley Diepenbrock and Delilah Diepenbrock and dear friend, Ellen Fairless (Karman) and their daughter Megan all of Godfrey.
She was preceded in death by her father and husband.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2023 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2023.
Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to the Dravet Syndrome Foundation.
