Bobby Lee "Bob" Jordan, of Jerseyville, 84, died at 11:19 p.m., Friday, February 15, 2013 at Eunice C. Smith Nursing Home in Alton.

He was born in East Alton on Feb. 4, 1929, and was the son of the late Thomas & Elsie (Belt) Jordan.

For many years Bob was employed as a diesel mechanic at National Marine Service in Hartford, and retired in 1984.

He was a family man, and enjoyed time spent with his children, grandchildren and his beloved dog "Shorty". He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and camping, and loved to build, as well as fly,  radio controlled airplanes.

He married Frances Ruyle on Nov. 25, 1962 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and they shared nearly 44 years together before her death on Aug. 5, 2007.

Surviving are his children and step children, Rob and Jeanelle Jordan of Jerseyville; Phillip and Patricia Edwards of Spring, TX; Catherine and Tom Heitzig of Jerseyville; Jody and Pete Basola of Jerseyville; Stanley and Teri Jordan of Gothenburg, NE; Dawn and Bob Reeves of Shelbyville; and Jay Jordan of Alaska.18 Grandchildren; 18 Great-Grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law Kermit and Bonnie Jordan of Spring Hill, FL; and a sister-in-law, Judy Desrosiers of Largo, FL; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a grandson, Jason Jordan; a brother, Truman Jordan; a sister, Verna Wiser; and an infant sister.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Father William Hembrow officiating.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Fieldon.

Memorials may be given to the Eunice Smith Nursing Home or to BJC Hospice
