Bobby Thompson

Bobby Joe Thompson, 63, of Alton passed away on Tuesday, March 04, 2014 at Barnes Jewish Hospital.Bobby Joe was born in St. Louis, Missouri on February 09, 1951, to the late Ellen Beatrice Owens and the late J.C. Thompson. He graduated from Alton Senior High School class of 1970 and later received his culinary degree. Bobby was a memorable and beloved member of the community; frequently, he would be found with a microphone in his hands as he lived his life with a song in his heart. Bobby is survived by three children: Toby Knight of Alton; Timara Thompson of San Antonio; and Shonia Seats of Atlanta;4 grandchildren; 7 siblings, Brenda(Willie)Lewis of Pittsburg, CA, Richard Thompson of Jennings, MO, Donnia Thompson, Janet(Myles)Musgraves, Kelvin Owens, Stanley Owens, and Eric (Lois) Owens all of Alton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Charles Thompson.Visitation will convene Friday, March 14, 2014 from 9 until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Harrison Funeral Chapel.  Interment will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery.  Guest signatures and condolences may be registered at www.harrisonfuenralchapel.com
