Blanche Wille

Godfrey |

Blanche O Wille, 90, joined Our Dear Lord in eternal life at 7:15 am Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at home.

She was born on January 3, 1921 in Carlinville, IL, the daughter of Albert & Freda (Rhoades) Ealey.

She married Victor C. Wille on September 21, 1938 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Alton. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1999.

Blanche was a loving and generous wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, who always made time for her family.  She and Victor spent many years traveling and enjoying life, all the while helping and caring for their loved ones.  She treasured every moment she could spend with each of her grandchildren, but above all, her passion was the time she and Victor spent fishing together.  They were truly a match made in heaven.  She had a tremendous sense of humor and wit, that she shared.

She spent the early years of her working life as a bookkeeper, employed by local businesses.  She later started Wille Income Tax Service, which she operated successfully for nearly 25 years.  Blanche had served on the Channel 9 Education Panel, was a lifetime founding member of St. Ambrose Church, a member of the St. Ambrose Altar Society and the Daughters of Isabella, and served as President of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women.  She held office as Treasurer for several local organizations including the Sportsmen’s Club Auxiliary, the Godfrey Democrats, and Crisis Food Center.  She served on the Godfrey Democratic Precinct Committee as well as serving as Chairman of the Precinct Committee Men.

Blanche is survived and sadly missed by seven children, Arlene K. Marberry, Barbara A. Parker, Richard D. (Dianne) Wille, Mary L. (Harold) Brand, Theresa M. Fuchs and friend David Crouch, all of the Godfrey area, Patricia H. (Dr. Scott) Fosko of University City, MO, Brenda E. (Maurice) Cope of Parker, CO, her daughter-in-law Sharold A. (Thomas) Wille of Rhome, TX,  a sister-in-law Evelyn Ealey of Henderson, NV; 21 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her eldest son Thomas A. Wille, granddaughter Valerie A. (Parker) Spurrier, grandsons Samuel W. Parker and John T. Fosko, her brother Willis Ealey; brother and sister-in-law Albert and Elizabeth (Betty) Ealey, and sons-in-law Ralph Marberry and Thomas Parker.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home, 1313 W. Delmar Ave., Godfrey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Friday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 820 W. Homer Adams Parkway, Godfrey, with Fr. Steve Pohlman as celebrant.

Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Crisis Food Center, 21 E. 6th St., Alton, IL.
