Blanche Alene Birdsong, 102, of Benld, IL, died at Evergreen Place, Litchfield, IL on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at 10:04 a.m. She was born December 11, 1921, in Pleasant Plains, AR to John Flippo & Cecil Eden Flippo. She married Luther Rex Birdsong on December 25, 1938. She was a homemaker. She played Bingo every Friday and was an avid reader. Blanche loved crochet, jig saw puzzles, bowling, dancing, cooking and being with family. Blanche taught a cooking class, making chocolate gravy, at Evergreen Place three weeks ago. She is survived by her children, Cecil Ann (Dale) Elliott of Tyler, TX, Johnny (Elvia) Birdsong of Marion, TX, David Birdsong of Litcfield, IL, Dean Birdsong of Wichita Falls, TX, Ronny (Martha) Birdsong of Rockport, TX, Sherry Munro of Benld, IL, Debra Birdsong of Amarillo, TX, Terri Birdsong of Sherman, TX, Michael Birdsong of Amarillo, TX, daughter in law and special friend, Susan Birdsong of Riverside, CA, 25 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren and sibling, Nadine Woodyard of Batesville, AR. Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, children, Billie Rex Birdsong, Kendell Birdsong, Linda Gerfers, Carolyn Boatman, grandsons, Dylan Morgan, Craig Birdsong, great grandson, Liam Ronald Harshbarger, great granddaughter, Alyssa Birdsong, brothers, Carl Flippo, Bernell Flippo, twin sisters, Lucille West and Adele Woes.
