Billy Davis

Billy C. Davis, age 73, of Godfrey, passed away Monday, February 3, 2014, in Oregon.He was born August 14, 1940, in Calvert City, KY, the son of Richard E. and Susie (Smith) Davis.He married Yvonne Norris on October 8, 1959, in Alton, and she preceded him in death on December 8, 2013.Mr. Davis was a Mine Foreman and retired from the former Mississippi Lime  Company. He enjoyed hunting and was very mechanically inclined. He loved spending time with his family.He is survived by four sons, Kevin (Dolly) Squires of Godfrey, Steven Squires of Alton, Scott Squires of Grafton and Billy D. (Angela) Davis of Alton; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; a brother, Ervin “Bud” Davis of Hopkinsville, KY; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jeanette Downing of Klamath Falls, OR, and Charlotte Ann and Jim Futrell of Benton, KY; and many other relatives and friends.In addition to his wife, Yvonne; he is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Carla Grammer; a son, Brian C. Davis; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Tom Davis and Jackie and Sue Davis, and Lois Davis; and one sister, Mildred Shaffner; and a brother-in-law, Virgil Downing.Visitation will be from 11 am until the time of funeral service at 1:00 pm, Monday, February 17, 2014, at Elias, Kallal, & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
