Beverly “Sue” Sweetman, 81, of Alton, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born on December 22, 1939 in Golden Eagle, IL, the daughter of Harold and Helen (Staats) Kraut. She married William J. Sweetman on April 12, 1958 in Hardin, IL at the First Presbyterian Church. He preceded her in death on August 9, 2013. .
Beverly retired from Family Services and Visiting Nurses and enjoyed camping and traveling.
Survivors include her children, David (Susan) Sweetman of Godfrey, IL, Brad (Jaci) Sweetman of Alton, IL, and Michelle (Tom) Klasner of Jerseyville,IL: Eight grandchildren, Jordan (Kandace) Sweetman of Alton, Bailey (Josh)Watson of Alton, Jake (Erin) Sweetman of Edwardsville, Tanner (Jaclene) Sweetman of Edwardsville, Laci (Derrick) Davault of Alton, Jonah Bostick of Alton, Noah Bostick of Jerseyville, Ryan Klasner of Jerseyville; Ten great-grandchildren, Karoline Sweetman, Harvey and Jane Watson, Sadie and Louis Sweetman, Isla and Beau Sweetman, Delanie and Dani Davault and Liam Bostick. Also surviving are Six siblings, Linda Butler of Ellis Grove, IL, June Biziallion of Hardin, IL, Jim (Diane) Kraut of St. Peters, MO, Mike (Anita) Kraut of Jerseyville, IL, John Kraut of Hardin, IL and Debbie (Ben) Heimann of Markel, IN and a brother in law and sister in law, Jim (Drew) Sweetman of Diamond Head, Mississippi.
Private Visitation will be held from 9 AM until time of service at 11AM on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton. Rev. Dave Burger will officiate.
Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery in Alton.
Memorials can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
The family would also like to Thank Dr. John Hoelcher and Staff and her caregivers Gina, Debbie, Christine and Cassandra.
