Betty Lou Plocher, age 90 of Pocahontas, IL, died Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Highland, IL.
She was born on Saturday, May 30, 1931, in Jamestown, IL, the daughter of Emil and Leona (nee ) Foehner.
On Saturday, August 26, 1950, she married O. John Plocher at St. Paul E & R Church, Jamestown, IL, who passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018.
She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ. She was also a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ - Women's Guild; Highland-Pierron Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary; Highland Senior Citizens; and Madison County Fair Association.
Betty was born and grew up in Jamestown, IL. and graduated from the Pocahontas High School in 1948. She worked for the Highland Box Board Company and the Pierron Farm Coop as a bookkeeper. Betty married John "Chub" in August 26, 1950 and started a family. She helped on the family farm (dairy, grain, livestock). Betty ran a flea market at the Madison County Fair for a number of years. She loved cooking, baking wedding cakes, gardening, embroidery, and quilting. Betty bowled with a senior league at High Top Bowl. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

(Todd) Zobrist, Pocahontas, IL; Grandchild - Jackie A. (Allen) Becker, Edwardsville, IL; Grandchild - Amy U. (James) Hollenkamp, Highland, IL; Grandchild - Eric C. Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Monday, August 16, 2021, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 16, 2021, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL, Rev. Todd Bean - Transitional Minister and Rev. Tim Darmour-Pall, officiating.
Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL.
Memorial contributions may be made to Evangelical United Church of Christ or Highland-Pierron Fire Department.
