Betty Deason

Betty Jean Deason, 85, passed from this earth at 2:48 am Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Bethalto Care Center. 

 

She was born on July 3, 1927 in Alton, IL, the daughter of Helen Jean (Hatfield) Rowland. 

Betty Jean was a bookkeeper for the Wood River Furniture Mart for 30 years and then went to work at Alton Sheet Metal for 10 years. She was a faithful member of Word and Spirit Church in Alton, as long as she was able to attend and loved her Bible study group. 

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda McCoy of Cottage Hills and Vicky and Aaron Vinyard of Godfrey; three grandchildren and their spouses, Sherry and Leonard Eaton and Shannon and Michael Brooks all of Delaware and Missy and Darrell Parnell of Tennessee; seven great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Joshua, Aaron, Sarah, Daniel, Ashley and J.T.; three great, great grandchildren, Brianna, Aidian and Alaysia and one sister, Cheryl Rowland of Springfield, MO. 

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Helen and Roy Rowland. 

Visitation will be from 4 until services at 6 pm Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Elias Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Jeremy Robinson officiating.  

Private family burial will be on Friday at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
