Betty Jane Davies, 76, passed away at 4:53 am Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born on February 24, 1935 in East St. Louis, IL, the daughter of Lloyd D. and Laura H. (Lewis) Durham.
She married James W. Davies on December 1, 1956 in East St. Louis. He survives.
She worked in data entry at the Biltwell Clothing Company in St. Louis, MO. She enjoyed crocheting, working on computers, camping and most of all spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Rickey Davies of East Alton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Katherine and Johnny Jones of Godfrey and Tammy and Darrell Furlow of Alton; eight grandchildren, Jason, Mathew, Dawn, Rachel, Taylor, Maddison, Avery and Preston; ten great grandchildren, Kane, Evyn, Kaylee, Ethyn, Mia, Braydon, Jaidyn, Griphyn, Julieann and Kori; a sister, Doris Vannoy of Jacksonville and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, Valta, Euden, Juanita, Francis, Anita and Myrtle and a half brother, Charlie.
Visitation will be from 2 pm to 6 pm Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Funeral services will be at 10 am Monday, March 21, 2011 at the funeral home with Minister Jerry Parks officiating.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
Memorials may be given to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research or Illinois School for the Deaf in Jacksonville, IL.
