Betty J. Angle, 82, died at 9:53 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013 at her residence. She was born October 4, 1930 in Madisonville, KY, the daughter of the late Robert and Essie (Oakley) Beeny. She owned and operated Betty’s Beauty Salon in Godfrey for 30 years retiring in 1987. She later worked for Dr. Middleton in Alton. She was a member of Heartland Baptist Church and was a past officer of the Madison County Hairdressers Association and was an avid golfer. On October 9, 1948 in Earlington, KY she married Orville E. “Bud” Angle and he preceded her in death on May 3, 1999. Surviving are one daughter; Rita Hake (Larry) of Destin, FL , one son; Mike Angle (Tracey Birch) of Foristell, MO, two grandchildren; Jennifer Britton of St. Louis and Jonathan Hake (Kathryn) of St. Louis, three great-grandchildren; Ben, Sam and Eli Britton, one brother; Bill Beeny of Wright City, MO., and her beloved companion; Josey Jean. She was preceded in death by two brothers; Glover and Robert Beeny and one sister; Margurite Hamby. Visitation will be Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 1:00 -4:00 p.m. at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday with the Reverend Jim Grant to officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to Heartland Baptist Church or Baptist Missions, Inc., P.O. Box 377, Wright City, MO 63390.
