Betty Hewitt, 96, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025, at her home.
She was born on December 26, 1928 in Alton, IL the daughter of Charles T. and Catherine (Golenor) Mason.
Betty married Kenneth "Lefty" Hewitt in Alton and he preceded her in death in 2013.
Betty had worked as an Inspector at Owens Illinois for 36 years before retirement. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxilliary. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Betty is survived by a daughter and her husband, Susan and Brad Ketterer of Godfrey; two grandchildren, Kyle Ketterer, and Kayla Ketterer; and two great-grandchildren, Shelby Ketterer, and Jenna Ketterer.
In addition to her husband, "Lefty"; Betty is preceded in death by her parents; and five siblings, Mary Nowlin, Virginia Eidson, William Mason, Harold Mason, and Charles Mason; and her beloved dog, Whiskey.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 10:00 am at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey will oversee arrangements.
