After a two month illness, Bette June Lawrence, 78, passed away at 12:17 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Relais Bonne Eau Hospice House in Edwardsville, Illinois.
She was born on June 16, 1934, in Peoria, Illinois, and was the daughter of the late William and Genevieve (Slater) Lohman.
She married David Lawrence on April 3, 1983, in Edwardsville, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on September 25, 2011.
She is survived by five daughters: Kathy Kellim and her husband Dennis of Holiday Shores, IL; Cindi Jones Lindley of San Diego, CA; Cheri Mayer and her husband Michael of Brimfield, IL; Terri Fanning and her husband Sam of Milford, IL; and Denise Sparks and her partner Jamie Farmer-Sparks of Alton, IL and a special stepson: Howard Lawrence and his wife Suzanne of Winfield, KS and their children Allie and Nick also of Winfield, KS. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Ashley Snider and her husband Mike of Holiday Shores, IL; Aaron Kellim and his wife Kristin of Bethalto, IL; Brandi Lindley and her companion Brian Cooney of San Diego, CA; Courtni Risley and her husband Chris of Peoria, IL, Brittni Smith of Manhattan, NY; Nichole Leone and her husband Berto of Peoria, IL; Jackie Meister and her husband Josh of Peoria, IL and six great grandchildren: Mikenley Snider of Holiday Shores, IL; Brian Cooney of San Diego, CA; Briaunna Cooney of San Diego, CA; Mary Smith of Peoria, IL; Parker Risley of Peoria, IL; and Ava Meister of Peoria, IL and two brothers: Bill Lohman and his wife Betty of Peoria, IL and Bob Lohman and his wife Lil of Bartonville, IL.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In celebration of her life, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
