Benedict M Stumpf, 91, passed away at 3:45 pm Wednesday September 12, 2012 at home in Godfrey.
He was born in Batchtown on January 27, 1921 the son of Emil P. and Alice (Sackman) Stumpf.
He married Ruth Anna Hanneken on January 20, 1951 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brussels. She survives.
He was a WWII Army Veteran and a member of the Brussels American Legion Post 685.
He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey, a member of the Tri-County Antique Club and the Labor Local 338 retirement club.
In addition to his wife, Ruth Anna Stumpf of Godfrey, he is also survived by a sister, Frances Nolte of Golden Eagle and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Vincent Stumpf.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 9 am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30 am Saturday September 15, 2012 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey with Fr. Steve Pohlman celebrant.
Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey.
