Barbara Jean Woods, 72, of Edwardsville, IL, born August 1, 1952, at Camp Cooke, CA, died Sunday, June 1, 2025, in Belleville, IL.
Barbara worked as a Lab Tech at two hospitals, Community of Roanoke Valley and St. E’s Granite City, IL. Water Treatment Operator at St. Louis County Water Co. Program Director-Water at ERIC- SIUE. She enjoyed biking the KD trail, listening to music, especially live music and Bruce Springsteen. Barbara was very talented and played multiple instruments. She loved animals, especially her dog, Lily, travelling, and going on cruises with her family. Above all she loved spending time with her nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack C. Woods; and her brother, Brad Woods.
Surviving are her mother, Carrol J., nee Reno, Woods, sister-in-law, Nancy Turner Woods; her aunt, Barbara Smith; four nephews, Bryan Woods, Bruce (Crystal) Woods, Bryce (Kate) Woods, and Benjamin (Sarah) Woods; six great-nieces and nephews, Matt (Mindi) Weik, and Joe, Kiley, Braeden, Parker, and Presley Woods; and her dog, Lily.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) and Stray Rescue of St. Louis. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.
Visitation: Friends may visit from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Michael Reno officiating.
A celebration of life will follow.
