Barbara Laura Tucker, 83, passed away at 9:15 am on Monday, January 17, 2011 at Robings Manor in Brighton.
She was born in on May 21, 1927 in Evansville, IN, the daughter of Otto Frank and Florence (Chevalier) Drach.
She married Victor Tucker on February 25, 1956 in Las Vegas, NV. He passed away on December 23, 1999.
Barbara was an LPN and worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Alton and also in Arizona. She was of the Catholic faith, a member of the Alton VFW Ladies Auxiliary, an antique collector and she loved to draw and paint.
She is survived by a son, William Howell of Phoenix, AZ; five daughters and their spouses, Donna Barnes of MO, Laura Lamberton of Long Island, Terry DeSherlia of Grafton; Sherrye Johnson of Princeton, IL, Christina Ackerman of Brighton and Vicky Fielder of Bethalto; seventeen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; a brother, Layne Drach of Spotsylvania, VA; a sister, Sharon Loeher of Evansville, IN and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Visitation will be from 10 am until a memorial service at 11 am on Friday, January 21, 2011 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Father Tom Liebler officiating.
Graveside services will be at 12:45 pm at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
